JonWes Smith joins the LITS Service Desk as the newest service desk analyst II. Before his arrival at Emory, he spent three years as a senior help desk analyst with Intelliteach, a legal services company. JonWes also worked for two years in tier2 iOS and Mac desktops support for Apple.

Born in Indianapolis, IN, JonWes came to Atlanta for the weather. “I had to get away from the snow,” he said.

For fun, JonWes says he is an avid Trekkie whose favorite series was Star Trek: Next Generation. “I’m a Giordi LaForge fan, which makes sense because I was also a Reading Rainbow kid.” JonWes is also a busy dad of two kids, ages 13 and 8, and loves listening to podcasts.

“I love it,” JonWes says about his new role. “I feel like I am at home. Its a great environment. Emory, where have you been all my life?”
