“The patron experience is important to me and I look forward to bringing my own style to our training process.” – Jessica Perlove

Jessica Perlove was recently promoted to the position of coordinator of the Music and Media Library. She previously held the position of privileges and accounts specialist in Emory Libraries, spending the past 11 years in that role. Jessica also was a documentation database specialist at Emory, and worked at Emory’s Druid Hills Bookstore, starting in 2000.

Jessica also taught middle school creative writing, drama and storytelling in Henry County, Georgia.

A native of Miami, FL, Jessica started her college years at Salem College in Winston Salem, NC, then transferred to Florida International University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature. She also recently completed Emory’s Aspiring Leadership program.

Away from work, Jessica loves reading, and attending book, film, and music festivals. One of her major passions is running a political discussion group that is part of the Living Liberally network. Jessica has been dating Emory PE faculty Nick Ray for several years. They have a cat named Ramona and a turtle named Methuselah.

“Because of my background, I bring knowledge of setting up accounts in other areas of the library. I am looking forward to applying that knowledge to equipment management,” says Jessica. “The patron experience is important to me and applying my experience to the way whole departments use Music and Media is exciting to me. I also look forward to bringing my own style to the training process.”
