“I am looking forward to mentoring these students and making a difference in their lives.” – Dina Thornton

Dina Thornton has returned to Emory as the new coordinator of the Computing Center at Cox Hall. In between Emory stints, she spent 16 months at Turner Broadcasting (which became Warner Media while she was there) and was on their learning and development HR team to do video production and support their learning programs. She also managed the new hire orientation program.

Previously at Emory, Dina did video production support on the Teaching and Learning Technology team, in support of Coursera. Prior to coming to Emory, she worked for four years as the assistant manager of dolphin show production at the Georgia Aquarium, where she handled all aspects of the technical production. Before that she was at a corporate video production company called ASV in Atlanta, where she was a production edit assistant.

A proud graduate of the University of Georgia (“Go Dawgs”), Dina received her degree in telecommunications and film studies. She was born and raised in Warner Robins, GA.

In her free time, Dina does ceramics. “I have boxes of random cups and bowls,” says Dina. “I’ve been doing it off and on since college.” She is also a runner, having completed some half marathons.

“I am super happy to be back at Emory,” she adds. “The work has been busy, engaging and fun. The environment in Cox Hall is very dynamic as I am interacting with students more than ever before. I am looking forward to mentoring these students and making a difference in their lives.”
