Her role is to handle the born-digital materials that the Rose Library receives as a part of their manuscript collections, including floppy discs, CDs, DVDs, and hard drives. Dorry began her time at Emory in August 2012 as a Research Library Fellow working in Digital Archives at MARBL.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Southampton but raised in Worcestershire, Dorry is a UK native. While attending Bath Spa University, she took on a summer job helping the school to host American study abroad students and this led her to apply to graduate school programs in the US. As a result, she has earned a master\u2019s degree in English from Ohio State University and a master\u2019s degree in Library Science from Indiana University.<\/p>\n<p>In her free time Dorry enjoys traveling with her husband, Travis, and learning about American sports like football and basketball. They root for Ohio State and Georgia Tech, where Travis works. Her favorite places she has visited so far are New Zealand and Japan.<\/p>\n<p>Dorry is very enthusiastic about her position. \u201cIt\u2019s a really exciting role because acquiring and taking care of these born-digital materials is a fairly new endeavor,\u201d she says. \u201cI feel like the profession is still identifying the best way to do it.
