Geoffrey once\u00a0worked at Emory back in the early 2000&#8217;s. He started as a computing support specialist in the Department of Human Genetics (SOM) and was promoted to supervising research project coordinator, working with Dr. Stephanie Sherman on her Fragile X Syndrome research project.<\/p>\n<p>Born and raised in Mineola, NY (Long Island), Geoffrey holds a bachelor&#8217;s degree from New York University and a master&#8217;s degree in technology management from Columbia University. He is also a certified ScrumMaster and working on his PMP certification this year.<\/p>\n<p>Geoffrey loves online learning websites like Udemy, healthy cooking and eating out, and watching movies with friends. He is\u00a0fascinated by leadership ideas coming out of Silicon Valley. &#8220;I love to nerd out by reading books on the subject,&#8221; said Geoffrey. &#8220;The key to applying them in the real world, however, is understanding that most organizations are not Silicon Valley tech firms.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Regarding his new job with Emory, Geoffrey said, &#8220;I knew after my first interview that the people in LITS were not just smart but open to different personality types that tend to gravitate toward tech careers.
