During this time, a team of MARBL archivists will arrange, describe and evaluate the papers for any preservation needs. The papers will reopen during Fall 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Since arriving at MARBL, the papers have generated a great deal of interest from O\u2019Connor scholars and fans and have quickly become one our most popular collections. \u00a0Detailed processing will allow for even greater access for researchers through careful organization of the materials and an in depth online finding aid.<\/p>\n<p>You can learn more about the acquisition of the O\u2019Connor papers at <a href=\"http:\/\/marbl.library.emory.edu\/about\/news-events\/news\/2014\/flannery-oconnor-papers-emory.html\">http:\/\/marbl.library.emory.edu\/about\/news-events\/news\/2014\/flannery-oconnor-papers-emory.html<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>MARBL has many other holdings related to O\u2019Connor, which are open and available for research, including,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/8z9ds\">Sally Fitzgerald papers<\/a>: Papers of Sally Fitzgerald, writer and editor of several volumes of O\u2019Connor\u2019s letters and works, including original O\u2019Connor letters and manuscripts.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/8zqf5\">Flannery O\u2019Connor collection<\/a>: An artificial collection of material related to Flannery O\u2019Connor, including correspondence, manuscripts and printed materials.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/8zqd1\">Flannery O\u2019Connor letters to Betty Hester<\/a>: Letters from O\u2019Connor to Hester, O\u2019Connor\u2019s friend and mentee in Catholicism. The letters offer insight into O\u2019Connor\u2019s approach to her faith and to her writing.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/8z23t\">Ashley Brown collection<\/a>: A collection of material related to professor Samuel Ashley Brown, including letters collected by him between O\u2019Connor and Susan Jenkins Brown.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/8zhm7\">Madison Jones papers<\/a>: Paper of author and educator Madison Jones, including correspondence between Jones and O\u2019Connor.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/900ww\">Floyd C. Watkins papers<\/a>: Papers of author and literature professor Floyd C. Watkins, includes correspondence between O\u2019Connor and Sally Fitzgerald and O\u2019Connor and Marion Montgomery. Resources about O\u2019Connor are teaching notes and student works about her.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/900q6\"><em>Porches: The South and Her Writers<\/em> interviews<\/a>: Conducted by Darren Wang for the NPR series <em>Porches<\/em>, this collection includes interviews with Sally Fitzgerald and at the home of O\u2019Connor.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/crc5q\">Emory University audiovisual collection<\/a>: Contains audio of Sally Fitzgerald\u2019s lectures on O\u2019Connor.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/900jh\">Alice Walker papers<\/a>: Include a handwritten draft of an essay on O\u2019Connor and Walker\u2019s notes and typescript for the book chapter \u201cBeyond the Peacock: The Reconstruction of Flannery O\u2019Connor.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Flannery O\u2019Connor papers, acquired by MARBL in 2014, are temporarily closed for processing.
