Jessie is a Ph.D. student in Person, Community, and Religious Life at Emory University’s Graduate Division of Religion. Her work explores the intersection between religious thought and practice, mental health, and race. She seeks to develop a theology of psychological wellness that might enable Black faith communities to better address mental health concerns. Before coming to Emory, Jessie earned an MSW and an MBA at Washington University in St. Louis and an AB in African and African American Studies from Harvard University.
