Research:
I am interested in understanding how brain disorders lead to an increased risk of falls and decreased balance ability by looking at changes in the brain and body movement. I then aim to translate these findings into strategies and assistive devices that can better detect fall risk and prevent falls. My primary projects now focus on understanding the mechanisms underlying balance impairment in Parkinson’s disease and investigating robotic exoskeletons as potential tools to mitigate fall risk.
