Research:

Michael is an NIH F32 postdoctoral research fellow, co-advised by Drs. Lena Ting, Trisha Kesar, and Gordon Berman. Michael’s work aims to develop tools and principles to inform gait rehabilitation personalization for people with biomechanical, motor, and cognitive impairments. He approaches this goal by uncovering the neural and biomechanical processes governing how gait kinematics, kinetics, and muscle activity change during rehabilitation. Michael achieves this insight by integrating machine learning discovery of gait dynamics, neuromechanics-driven experiments, and musculoskeletal simulation.
