Inger Jackson Garnett is a skilled leader of quality and improvement and currently is the Director of Strategic Operations for the Office of Research Administration at Emory University. She is an enthusiastic people and process leader with over 25 years of experience with delivering innovative solutions to improve the needs of constituents in military, corporate, healthcare, and higher education environments. Inger possesses extensive background with operations, project management, process improvement and strategic planning. As a process improvement leader, Inger has successfully led transitions and consolidation of departments within healthcare, university, and IT organizations, resulting in efficiencies and improved working environments. As a hands-on leader, Inger’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Public Health.
Recently, Inger was invited to Florida Atlantic University (FAU) to provide an overview on Process Improvement in Research Administration. She presented to the FAU Research Administration staff on Lean Six Sigma and provided guidance and walked the team through the “Define Phase” to kick off continuous improvement within their Research Administration Department. Inger users her positive energy and her platform as a leader to not only impact improving processes and systems but coaching and mentoring the Strategic Operations Team, better known as the ORA Dragon Team. Inger considers herself as a servant leader and is inspired by her husband and their two sons. She is a dedicated leader to creating a better work environment for all and is guided by the principles of Martin Luther King Jr’s quote “Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
