The Office of Research Administration (ORA) has successfully partnered with Year Up to place new talent in internships, for the second year in a row. Year Up is a 3-step job training program that offers a variety of skills-based job training pathways that match the expertise corporate partners are seeking in their talent pool. Their mission is to close the opportunity divide by ensuring that young adults gain the skills, experiences, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through careers and higher education. It is 100% tuition free, and offers support, tools, and resources that goes beyond job placement.
Our 2024 intern cohort includes a diverse group of young adults that have been placed within five of our departments to support each of their overarching strategic goals for ORA. Our interns include Chinh Ngo (Research Business Operations), Bianca Tate (Research Business Operations), William Duval (Research Grants and Contracts), Miya Stallings (Research Training), and Khia Greaves (Research Compliance & Regulatory Affairs). They are currently working together in a shared workspace, which encourages collaboration, empowerment, and an opportunity to hear the initiatives of their counterparts’ departments. We are pleased to welcome them to The Office of Research Administration and wish them all much success.
