An Anthropological View of College Dorm Desktops

Last week, Dr. Alicia DeNicola’s Anthropology 101 classes used the library’s new exhibit spaces for an anthropological study of their desks in their dorms. Each student did a study of the contents on and around their work spaces and created an exhibition to present to their class.  They could either do a physical display in the classes exhibition spaces or create a digital presentation on the iMacs in the library.  This assignment takes the student out of their regular understanding of the items and makes them think about their work spaces in their dorms from an anthropological point of view.
