Read an Ebook by the Fire!

A snug fire, a warm drink…if only you had remembered to stop by the library to check out a good book!  Good news! You can borrow a book from Emory’s OverDrive ebook and audiobook collection, 24 hours a day, from anywhere you have an Internet Connection! A variety of popular devices may be used to read or listen to items from OverDrive. Use your existing Nook, Kindle, iPhone, iPad, iPod or your computer by installing the OverDrive Media Console onto your device. You can also place holds on OverDrive items, then will receive an email when the item becomes available for you to check out.  OverDrive items do not accrue fines because you can’t miss your due date – the item will be removed from your device automatically at the end of the loan period. OR, you can turn the item back in early if you are a fast reader.

Your Oxford librarians choose the OverDrive collection based on the current bestseller lists from the New York Times and on Amazon, and on recommendations from the database NoveList (a great resource for finding reading suggestions, book discussion guides and author read-alikes), from the NPR review of books and several other book review sites.  We are always interested in your recommendations! Please feel free to contact us and let us know of audio books or ebooks you would like to see in OverDrive.
