Sam Blocker is a second-year majoring in Political Science. Sam represents the high caliber student body the library has been fortunate to have. We’ve noticed his diligence and work ethic, and how he engages in the various duties and tasks he assists with, big or small. If issues arise or the unforeseen crops up, Sam communicates appropriately and has done a solid job balancing work with academic and social demands, especially over these last trying semesters. He is attentive and helpful with patron needs, and asks questions of staff when necessary. Sam demonstrates the four principles we value in our student employees—approachability, flexibility, professionalism, and an invested attitude—and that is why he is Oxford College Library’s Student Employee of the Month for February! We hope he’ll continue to lead by example for all our student employees.
