Did you know?

Library Help sessions are available Monday – Thursday, 6-9pm for help with research, citations, and more.  No appointment necessary. The library can help you with many of your technology needs. The recent ISP podcast features the library technology available for you to use. The library is full of resources for international students, and library staff are excited to help you navigate the library. Here are answers to some commonly asked questions:

What is the collection?

The collection is everything the library has available for use. Here at Oxford College Library, the collection includes books, DVDs, ebooks, laptops, iPads, periodicals, and more! Need something? Ask a library staff member. If we have it as part of the collection, you can use it!

How do I borrow or use a book or other item?

Bring the book or other item to the circulation desk. The person at the desk will scan your student ID, then scan your item. Some items, such as laptops, require you to sign a form. Just have your ID with you, and we’ll let you know if you need to do anything else.

How do I find the book or article I need?

Use the online catalog to find the resources you need. The catalog and databases can be tricky. Please ask us if you have any questions.

My professor says to read this in my course reserves. What are those?

Course reserves are items your instructor has made available for your class to use. Some items are here at the circulation desk, and can be checked out. Other items are available online. Not sure which you need? Ask a library staff member to help you log in to your course reserve page. You’ll find a list of all the reserves available for your class, and how to access them.

Can I print in the library?

Yes! You can print from any computer terminal in the library. You can also install Pharos software and then print from your laptop.

What other resources does the library offer?

Please check out the library’s webpage to see all the services and resources available for you at the library. And of course, Library staff members are always happy to assist you!
