Shilpa Krishnan, PT, PhD

Shilpa Krishnan, PT, PhD is a licensed physical therapist currently with active license(s) in the states of New York and Texas. Dr. Krishnan’s research focuses on Patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) methods, comparing effectiveness of rehabilitation and functional outcomes following stroke across various settings, management of caregiver burden following neurological conditions, prevention and early detection of secondary complications such as pressure ulcers, pneumonia, urinary tract infections among older adults and spinal cord injury. Dr. Krishnan is  PI on NIDILRR funded Switzer grant exploring pressure ulcer outcomes and service utilization among older adults in skilled nursing facility. She serves as a reviewer for various journals including, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Gerontologist. Dr. Krishnan is also an active member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, serving on Networking Groups, and Special Interest Groups.
