Hymnody Exhibit & Sacred Harp

With over 15,000 items, Pitts Theology Library holds the largest collection of early hymns and psalms in North America aside from the Library of Congress. This month, visitors will have a variety of opportunities to view these rare musical materials first-hand. Until February 15, the library will offer an exhibition curated by Dr. Stephen Crist (Department of Music, Emory College) with contributions from Dr. Bo Adams and Jesse Karlsberg: “Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs: Rare Musical Materials in Pitts Theology Library.” The gallery is open during regular library hours and tours are offered on Friday afternoons. All are invited to sign up here.

On Saturday, February 14 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, all are invited to the annual Sacred Harp Sing at Emory at Cannon Chapel. Tours of the exhibit will be offered at 12:30 and 3:00 pm that day. Please register here.
