Even though\u00a0it isn&#8217;t, strictly speaking, <em>the<\/em>\u00a0&#8220;good news&#8221; of this liturgical season, Pitts does have\u00a0some good news!\u00a0You can\u00a0cross at least one item off your list by finding\u00a0bulletin and program\u00a0images in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pitts.emory.edu\/dia\">Pitts Digital Image Archive<\/a>. In addition to the regular character search features, you can also search the database by scripture verse, streamlining\u00a0the search\u00a0process.<a href=\"http:\/\/pitts.emory.edu\/dia\/image_details.cfm?ID=3991\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-741 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/pittsblog\/files\/2017\/04\/00001640-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/pittsblog\/files\/2017\/04\/00001640-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/pittsblog\/files\/2017\/04\/00001640-768x1075.jpg 768w, https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/pittsblog\/files\/2017\/04\/00001640-732x1024.jpg 732w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nYou can find almost 600 images that engage the crucifixion in the DIA database, including this representation\u00a0of Jesus as the <a href=\"http:\/\/pitts.emory.edu\/dia\/image_details.cfm?ID=3991\">&#8220;Man of Sorrows&#8221;<\/a> in the title page to one of Martin Luther&#8217;s sermons on the suffering of Christ. Try searching for the term &#8220;crucifixion&#8221; or &#8220;cross&#8221; or even &#8220;suffering&#8221; and &#8220;Christ.&#8221; Each DIA entry will include a brief description of the image as well as information about the original source of the image, which we hope can\u00a0help you and your parishoners engage the biblical texts in new ways.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pitts.emory.edu\/dia\/image_details.cfm?ID=10018\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-740 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/pittsblog\/files\/2017\/04\/00009627-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>In\u00a0keeping with the cyclical nature of the Holy Week events, there\u00a0are also a number of images relating to the joy of the resurrection!
