Significance

The concept of rhetoric is extremely important from not just a writer but a reader’s perspective as well. It enhances your writing style by making use of many different language features such as similes, metaphors and alliteration which makes the text much more interesting to read. Rhetoric techniques also help to make the text descriptive and persuasive which makes the readers associate to the text in an easier manner. Overall, they are tools that are integral parts of the writing process as they are not restricted to a particular genre or text type but can be altered to be used in any text. 

Examples

Advertisement using visual imagery along with the use of logos (stating the number of people that died due to smoking) to promote no smoking.

Advertisement most likely about a supplement for weight loss using a question as a rhetoric that will attract people who are keen to lose weight.

Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech that uses repetition of the phrase “I have a dream” to amplify its effect.
