Overall, I feel like the premise and construction of my essay were solid, contributing to an overall decent essay. However, sometimes the last step of synthesis/analysis was difficult (had a hard time finding the finish line). I was able to introduce the ideas I wanted and analyze them on the surface with relative ease, but the final sentences of each paragraph were often my biggest struggle to write. I think I am good at finding the connections between pieces, but articulating my thoughts/findings is difficult. I often find that I need to write in speech-to-text to get started, as it is difficult for me to establish the flow of my essay with no other content on the page. Once I have an outline or a structure, I can usually find a flow relatively quickly, but getting the first 100-200 words out there is something I sometimes find troubling. For the rest of the semester, I hope to get the chance to improve some of those core fine details that help an essay go from pretty decent to good/great, as well as get more practice roughing out the beginning of an essay, so it is easier for me to dive in and edit later.
