Dasia Hall

Hi everyone! I am a junior majoring in Biology and my pronouns are her/hers. I loved reading when I was younger, but I lost my passion for it in highschool. Fortunately, I have picked it up again in college, however, I’m not able to read recreationally much during the school year. I find reading to be enjoyable, however, I often struggle with really dense assigned readings. As far as writing, it is something that I’ve always been drawn to and I find it to be one of my strong suits. I best learn visually in practically every subject. I have taken three writing courses at Emory and feel that the written feedback I have received from professors has thoroughly improved my skillset and made me a more confident writer. Ultimately, I think the most important things for me when it comes to writing with confidence are tuning into my writer voice and being receptive to any suggestions for improvement. The most helpful writing strategy I can offer is to just get your thoughts down on paper without worrying about how good it sounds. You can always go back and edit! I am really excited for this course and hope to get to know some of you guys!
