I have chosen as a text to read for my midterm: Frank millers, Dark Knight return
DESCRIPTION/SUMMARY:
Here is what this text means to me: personification of the character batman as Vengeance.
AUDIENCE SPECULATION:
The intended audience I am imagining for my close-reading essay is: discourse community of DC fans or batman fans, this is because they truly understand the original work and will be able to see how the original work and the work presented does a good job or not so good job in representing why batman is the personification of vengeance.
FORMAL AND GENERIC CONVENTIONS:
The 2-3 formally/generically similar texts I have discovered through research are:
- Batman 2022 movie, which is a thriller film that will be used to analyze personification of batman.
- Dark knight returns by frank miller, will be used as original material for discourse community to compare too.
- Emory psychologist Jared Defife, used to break down the analysis of batman’s psychology.

I intend to talk about my object in relation to the Movie The batman 2022, and how they personify batman.

Here is what this text means to me: He has a phD in psychology so I trust the insight and evidence presented to break down and identify batman.

The intended audience I am imagining for my close-reading essay is: this text will be mainly for a discourse community field with psychologist and people who want proof, using this evidence should provide sufficient proof for my argument of what I think batman identifies with.
