Reading Journal 7 – Chloe Chen

Last weekend, some of my friends and I went out to eat Korean BBQ in Atlanta. Growing up Asian in America, KBBQ is one of those experiences that is a pretty big part of my childhood – everyone sits at one table and you order platters of food to cook over the grill, alongside side dishes that the restaurant gives you. It’s more than just a meal, because it’s a chance to spend hours with friends catching up and eating good food together. At home, going to KBBQ with friends was a tradition after midterms in the winter, and I was really glad to be able to continue that at Emory.

I think it’s easy to get caught up in all the work and extracurricular activities at Emory. For me at least, I’m always running around between work, classes, mock trial, and tour guiding so I don’t have too much time to do things outside of school, so it was really nice getting to relax with friends for a change.
