Reading Journal 7 – Eileen Hernandez

On Saturday night, I attended the Emory University Symphony Orchestra (EUSO) concert with friends at the Schwartz Center. The concert featured music from Beethoven, George Walker, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The performance felt very immersive and beautiful. I especially appreciated this outing with my friends because I had never seen a live orchestra before and it was very refreshing for me to experience. It was interesting to witness the dynamics of an orchestra, such as the role of the concertmaster and the lead cellist. Overall, this night has encouraged me to seek out more opportunities in the arts (or elsewhere) that I would not initially consider doing with friends, because it may lead me to discover more eye-opening and rewarding experiences such as this one.
