One of the strengths I have was to summertime the text I read. In my essay, I convert a long story to my own text to let readers get a basic sense on what is happening in the whole story. I can also do a little bit interpretation that digs into the story.
But I struggled on a lot of parts. For example, I am weak on reading. For a native English speaker, he/she might need to spend ten minutes to read a chapter, but I might need to spend one hour to read the same chapter. Moreover, for most of the time, I need to spend extra time to analyze the structure of the text and sometimes I can’t fully understand the text. I also struggled on writing. As a student who study science, I always try to express something as simple and concise as possible. So, I struggled on writing so many words when writing the essay.
In the future, I think I should cultivate my interest in reading and writing. Since middle school, although I like Science classes, I felt bored when I was taking liberal arts classes. I wanna share a small fun fact about myself that I fell into sleep on every Chinese classes when I was a high school student (my high school was in China, and Chinese classes were part of graduation requirement). And lack of interest in liberal arts blocks my knowledge in the area. So, I really think I should gain more interest in liberal arts in the future.
