{"id":582,"date":"2022-10-28T16:53:36","date_gmt":"2022-10-28T16:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/queerreading\/?p=582"},"modified":"2022-10-28T16:53:37","modified_gmt":"2022-10-28T16:53:37","slug":"chloe-wegrzynowicz-journal-8-midterm-reflection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/queerreading\/chloe-wegrzynowicz-journal-8-midterm-reflection\/","title":{"rendered":"Chloe Wegrzynowicz, Journal 8, Midterm Reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Midterm Essay Reflection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Essay:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I wrote about <em>Small Beauty<\/em><\/li><li>I did three close readings from the three flashback scenes in the novel<\/li><li>I wrote about ambivalent ghosts<ul><li>Ghosts = flashbacks<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Ghosts = memory<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Strengths:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I like what I wrote about and think it is an interesting topic<\/li><li>I think I break down my close readings well<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What was hard:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Pinpointing what I was arguing outside of just a close reading<\/li><li>Setting boundaries with my analysis<\/li><li>Being concise<\/li><li>Being motivated to edit and work on this paper, I did not really edit.<\/li><li>Not saying \u201cthis\u201d or \u201cthat\u201d when referring to ideas expressed in the paper<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where I need more guidance:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I would like an opinion on the strength of my essay and what you think it was trying to argue<\/li><li>I wonder if essays necessarily need to argue something as I felt my essay was less argument based and more of an analysis<ul><li>I am not sure if that makes sense<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Creating a reverse outline would be helpful<\/li><li>Defining my terms, I could have elaborated more on how ambivalence played into my argument, though I wasn\u2019t sure how.
