A novel that I would like to recommend is \u201cReal Queer America: LGBT Stories from Red States\u201d by Dr. Samantha Leigh Allen, who received her Ph.D. in Women\u2019s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a Psychoanalytic Studies certificate from Emory University. The book details personal stories and an overall look into queer communities in red states. I personally have started reading it and have found it to be a fun and easy read. As a Georgian, I also believe the intersection between queerness and the American South is underrepresented.
