The Office of Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce the upcoming implementation of Cayuse 424 for grants.gov proposal submissions. After careful consideration it was determined that Cayuse 424, a software program that provides for web-based development of grants.gov submission packages and checks for errors as the user complete the forms, was  asound solution for the issues likely to arise from NIH’s decision to eliminate the 2-day error correction window beginning January 25, 2011. In addition, we believe that Cayuse 424 will facilitate more efficient proposal creation, review and submission for all users on campus.

OSP is currently working with Cayuse to finalize the deployment plan and will announce all future next steps and the training schedule very shortly. Further, we will be determining how the deployment will affect the typically large, February 5th NIH deadline and will provide that information as soon as possible

It is anticipated that the deployment will be relatively simple for campus users and that the required training will be minimal. the feedback from on-campus testers, as well as peer institutions who utilize Cayuse 424, has been extremely positive. Cayuse 424 should be a very useful tool for the Emory research community. We encourage you to visit here if you have questions or would like to learn more about the system.
