Reminders from the COI Review Office:

*For PHS-funded studies, remember to create a new Proposal Financial Interest in Research Report form  1) at time of initiation for the project, 2) at time of annual progress report,  and/or 3) twelve months after the NOA.  For Non-PHS funded studies, remember to create a new Proposal Financial Interest in Research Report form 1) at time of initiation for the project and 2) annual basis.

*The definition of Investigator has been revised.  It no longer means any one listed on the budget or whose biosketch is included in the application.  The new definition is: Project Directors, Principal Investigators, and/or members of the research team identified as senior/key personnel on the grant or contract application, progress report, or any other report; and any Individuals identified by the Project Director or Principal Investigator who are responsible for and have substantial independent decision making in respect to the design, conduct or reporting of the research.

*All faculty members who are involved in research may complete their eCOI Annual Certification.  For non-PHS investigators, the due date is December 31, 2012.  For PHS investigators, the due date is the earliest of the following dates:  1) prior to the next progress report due date, notice of award date for a new or continuing award, or submission deadline date for a new grant;  or 2) December 31, 2012.
