New HIPAA Guidance is on the way.
You may have heard about HIPAA new guidance regulations that were published on January 25, 2013 to become effective March 26, 2013.
Significant changes have been made to HIPAA regulations that effect research, Business Associates, Breach Notification Standard and the Common Rule.
What should you know about these changes?
1) Emory will need to be compliant by September 23, 2013
2) Current staff, new hire and students will need to be trained on the new changes
3) Changes will affect some of Emory’s practices.
4) Policies and procedures will be updated.
For now, look for future announcements regarding training and changes to policy and procedures. ORC will provide additional information through this newsletter and other channel as changes are made.
