NSF Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG)

Effective February 24, 2014 a new version of the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide has been issued and consists of the:

  • Grant Proposal Guide (GPG); and
  • Award & Administration Guide (AAG)

All proposals submitted or due, on or after February 24, 2014 must use the new version of the PAPPG.  The new version has significant changes that include:

  • Addition to the certification regarding Conflict of Interest and the appropriate disclosure process;
  • Reiteration that indirect costs are not allowed on participant support costs;
  • Small-scale pilot of new environmental impacts process with a few programs, prior to NSF-wide implementation;
  • Updated process for program income reporting; and
  • Numerous clarifications throughout the document.
