The National Institutes of Health is hosting the 2017 Regional Seminars on Program Funding and Grants Administration in New Orleans on May 3-5 and in Baltimore, Maryland, Oct. 25-27, 2017.
These seminars offer a comprehensive program including such topics as fundamentals of the NIH, compliance, peer review, grant writing for success, pre-award and post-award issues for administrators and investigators, animal and human subject research, how to interact electronically with NIH, and more. In addition to a strong tracks for administrators, the new investigator track will provide step-by-step guidance on career mapping, provide insight into the peer review process, and improve understanding about the funding process and what can be expected up to the time of award. In addition, they are offering higher level topics that provide insight into NIH’s leadership perspective and our approach to funding and support of the biomedical research enterprise, as well as special interest sessions on topics like research integrity, foreign collaborations, clinical trials, public access, and so much more.
The entire roster of speakers will be on hand at various times throughout the 2-day seminar to meet with participants during our “1:1 Meet the Experts” sessions. These 15 minute chats provide a unique and valuable opportunity to have a more personal discussion and get your questions answered. They will also have exhibits with experts available throughout the conference to discuss topics and answer questions on the NIH Common Fund, intellectual property, NIH policy, small business programs, and more.
