Are You Prepared in Case of an Emergency?

To make sure you are prepared in any situation, take a look at the following list for ideas.

  • Always dial 911 in case of an emergency. It is also important to have the numbers for the Police Department/Security on hand.
  • Visit Accident.Emory.edu to learn how to report workplace accidents/injuries.
  • Create an evacuation plan for your family and co-workers.
  • Have a meeting place at home and at work in case of separation.
  • Designate alternate routes if roads are inaccessible.
  • Create a disaster supply kit to last for a few days (canned food, water, first aid, etc.).
  • Test fire extinguisher yearly.
  • Learn the Heimlich maneuver.
  • Learn CPR.
  • Visit Ready.gov for valuable information and resources.
