Activity ID Overview

What are Activity IDs?

Activity IDs were established as part of the recent PeopleSoft 9.2 upgrade based on feedback received from the listening tours indicating the need to reduce the number of projects being utilized.  Activity ID now equals the budget year.

What were the changes with the PeopleSoft 9.2 Upgrade?

  • Activity ID = Project’s Budget Year rather than Grants (used to have one Activity ID called Grants)
  • Project ID will not change each year (stays the same throughout the life of most Awards)
  • Grants with carryover authority will have one Activity ID to represent the entire 5 year award segment
  • Eliminate the creation of new project IDs to separate budget periods when there is no carryover (no need for a new Project ID for an award with no automatic carryover)

What is the difference between a Project ID and Activity ID?

How do Activity IDs appear in my Award within PeopleSoft?

What do the Activity Statuses control?

What do I do if I need to have an activity status open for transactional purposes; such as RSTs and Emory Express transactions?

Please send a request via Salesforce to FGC Operations for review and approval.  The activity will be open for 10 days.  You will be notified via Salesforce when the ticket is closed.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Jumionne Tiako, Associate Director, Post Award Setup jtiako@emory.edu.
