The Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHSO) updated and expanded the Hazardous Waste Guidelines, now titled Regulated Waste Guidelines to include additional topics listed below. The current version is on our website under Forms/Documents. This guideline provides information for proper management of regulated waste so that we protect our environment and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local agencies such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Georgia Environmental Protection Department (GA EPD), and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
A highlight of the updates include:
- Changes to the Hazardous Waste regulations,
- Radioactive Waste management,
- Biohazardous Waste management,
- Broken glass, and
- Chafing fuel (e.g., SternoTM)
