From the start of the Training Grant Support Office, second to support for faculty data collection and analysis, was the need for post award resources. How to effectively and accurately manage the training grant once it is awarded was a common question.
In 2024, the Training Grant Support Office assembled a core team from various areas of the University – RGC, OSP, PAS, LGS, Finance, internal and external research administration groups and others – to combine expertise and skill to begin developing resources for training grant post award management. The team met biweekly over the course of a year to review and adjust current processes, develop new processes and create tools and resources to support training grant stakeholders with training grant post award responsibilities.
In March 2025, the Training Grant Support launched its Post Award Webpage to serve as a central hub for training grant post award resources. The webpage includes four major sections starting with preparing for trainee appointments through RPPRs and financial reporting. The webpage also includes additional resources such as Childcare and Leave of Absence information and other helpful links to relevant websites. The Post Award webpage is a living resource, so we encourage all users to visit regularly for the most updated information pertaining to post award training grant management.
