August 2024-
This month we would like to highlight our very own Religion Professor Dianne Stewart. On April 29, 2024, Dr. Stewart moderated an insightful discussion with Alexis Wells-Oghoghomeh on behalf of the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora (ASWAD). Dr. Stewart is a member of the ASWAD executive board and it was a wonderful opportunity for her to host this book conversation with Dr. Wells about her first book The Souls of Womenfolk: The Religious Cultures of Enslaved Women in the Lower South (UNC 2021). This interview contributes to ASWAD’s mission of advancing the study and understanding of the global African diaspora, offering valuable perspectives and scholarly insights.
