In a special session of REL 270: Entertaining Religion, an online course taught by Professor Gary Laderman, actor and author Rainn Wilson—best known for his role as Dwight Schrute on The Office—joined the class to discuss his book Soul Boom.
Rainn Wilson, co-founder of the website SoulPancake and author of Soul Boom, shared insights on spirituality, personal growth, and social change during a recent webinar. He emphasized integrating spiritual practices into daily life, the role of entertainment in promoting spiritual themes, and the power of community for well-being. Wilson discussed psychedelics as a bridge between spirituality and mental health and highlighted the need for storytelling that connects secular and faith-based audiences—using The Matrix as an example of metaphysical media.
