{"id":1198,"date":"2023-08-01T18:41:33","date_gmt":"2023-08-01T18:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/samothraciannetworks\/?p=1198"},"modified":"2023-08-01T18:41:36","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T18:41:36","slug":"vr-kottabos-testing-by-the-njcl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/samothraciannetworks\/2023\/08\/01\/vr-kottabos-testing-by-the-njcl\/","title":{"rendered":"VR Kottabos Testing by the NJCL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On July 26<sup>th<\/sup>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalscholarship.emory.edu\/\">Emory Center for Digital Scholarship<\/a> (ECDS) invited students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.njcl.org\/NJCL-Convention\/2023-NJCL-Convention\">National Junior Classics League<\/a> to come and beta test <em>VR Kottabos<\/em>, one of the free educational games that is being developed through the<em> Sailing with the Gods <\/em>partnership with the Kennesaw State University (KSU) Computer Game Design and Development program\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/facultyweb.kennesaw.edu\/yli49\/index.php\">Dr. Joy Li<\/a>, and her class in Educational and Serious Game Design. <em>Kottabos<\/em> was one of the most popular skill-based ancient party games!<\/p>\n<p>Over 50 NJCL high school students came, having the chance to try the immersive Classical game on an HTC Vive headset. The students provided helpful feedback for the KSU programmers, who were also in attendance.
