1. Optimus: as I said in class, this a lot to look at, so in future posts rather than introduce us to so many images alongside a cursory analysis, choose just a few images and do a deeper analysis. Also, remember part of the assignment is to connect what you are finding to the readings if you can. Lastly, I am going to encourage to keep your ideas about sexuality and race in the Black/African American community (especially the experience of gay Black folks) close by in your brain because soon we are going to read some orals histories of African American gay men (from the book “Sweet Tea”).
