When these technologies are patented, licensed, and brought to market, it marks a significant milestone in advancing research and real-world impact.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4257 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/techtransfer\/files\/2025\/04\/250417-Emory-OTT-Annual-Celebration-004.jpg\" alt=\"Blue and clear crystal awards on a white tablecloth\" width=\"319\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/techtransfer\/files\/2025\/04\/250417-Emory-OTT-Annual-Celebration-004.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/techtransfer\/files\/2025\/04\/250417-Emory-OTT-Annual-Celebration-004-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/>On April 17, 2025, Emory OTT hosted the <a href=\"https:\/\/ott.emory.edu\/about\/annual-celebrations\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tech Partnership Forum: Technology, Partnering &amp; Faculty Honors<\/strong><\/a>. Since the event\u2019s inception in 2007, it\u2019s changed names and locations, and it\u2019s grown to host more than 150 people. But even as it\u2019s evolved, our annual event has always highlighted exceptional faculty contributions to innovation and commercialization.<\/p>\n<p>It was an especially remarkable year, as OTT also <a href=\"https:\/\/ott.emory.edu\/about\/ott40\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">celebrated its 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary<\/a> of creating impact at Emory. Executive Director Todd Sherer marked the occasion in a speech with references to the office\u2019s creation following the passage of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bayh%E2%80%93Dole_Act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bayh-Dole Act<\/a>, our former building lovingly called The Tech Shack, and <a href=\"https:\/\/ott.emory.edu\/resources\/statistics\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stats that prove Emory tech transfer\u2019s impact<\/a>. We also rolled out new swag, including 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary-branded screen cloths and custom napkins, and refreshed our displays of Emory researchers and products.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-4258 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/techtransfer\/files\/2025\/04\/250417-Emory-OTT-Annual-Celebration-132.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"313\" height=\"208\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/techtransfer\/files\/2025\/04\/250417-Emory-OTT-Annual-Celebration-132.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/techtransfer\/files\/2025\/04\/250417-Emory-OTT-Annual-Celebration-132-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 313px) 100vw, 313px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But the biggest change this year happened on stage. We expanded our annual honoree event to include a <strong>Technology Showcase<\/strong>, providing a platform for emerging discoveries and industry collaboration. In this session, Emory researchers and start-up teams pitched their technologies, offering valuable insights into the future of innovation and partnership opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The
