Powell, Research Impact Informationist, Emory University Libraries<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em>From the Desk of the Director:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I am pleased to announce that Kimberly R. Powell was selected as a participant in the 2023-2024 cohort of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlanet.org\/page\/rising-stars\">Medical Library Association\u2019s Rising Star program<\/a>. Kim is the Research Impact Informationist for the Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library.<\/p>\n<p>The MLA Rising Star program gives members the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and personal characteristics needed to become a leader in MLA. The leadership development program matches each Rising Star with a mentor in a yearlong curriculum that includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experiences and training to develop self-awareness of skills and dispositions as a leader.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to discuss, reflect upon, and apply concepts from classic leadership texts.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to gain a comprehensive, intimate view of all aspects of MLA, with a focus on strategic planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are proud that Kim was chosen as one of four Rising Stars in the next cohort.
