Are your students’ research skills up to snuff? Do their citations measure up?
If you feel a certain amount of trepidation every time you have to grade a research project or paper, the Library can help!
The librarians at Woodruff provide a variety of instructional services for your classes that can sharpen your students’ information literacy abilities and practices.
- We can create research guides for your classes tailored to your particular assignments (example 1, example 2, example 3).
- We can provide a hands-on, interactive instruction session for your class centered on their assignment. You can contact your subject librarian or use the instruction request form.
- Subject librarians are also happy to work with you on designing assignments. And we know that a research paper is NOT the only option for your students. In fact it may not be the best option for 1st year students. If you need some inspiration for new assignment ideas, there are links to a number of websites that provide creative alternatives to research assignments.
- Your students can also have personalized research consultations with a subject librarian.
