Emory Libraries is happy to announce that we have negotiated a three-year subscription to Dewey Data, a new data service tailored to academic libraries. Emory joins several other universities with enterprise access, including NYU, MIT, University of Chicago, Yale and UPenn. Dewey has worked extensively with large commercial data providers to make their respective content more accessible, affordable, and favorable to the academic library market.
The service provides a unified platform for the downloading and querying of large commercial datasets, with a significant focus on geospatial, corporate, consumer traffic, real estate data, and climate/weather data, that will be of relevance for a wide array of researchers in the social sciences, business, and (public) health. For a complete listing of data partners, please go directly to the Dewey website, which also includes a running inventory of research made possible through access to data partners’ content on the platform. Instructions on how to access, along with the important terms and conditions for using data sources on/from the platform, are available in this guide.
Please note that access to Dewey Data requires registration and is limited to current faculty, staff, and students.
Emory Libraries would like to thank the financial support from several sectors of the university, including CIDMath, the Goizueta Business School, and the Department of Environmental Sciences, who have made this institutional subscription possible.
