Pop in to the Pop-up Public Library Card Drive on campus Sep. 11

The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System (AFPLS) is giving out free library cards to all current Emory students, staff, and faculty on Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Pop-up Library Card Drive station on the second floor of the Woodruff Library. This is the second library card drive AFPLS has held at Emory University.

To receive your free library card, bring your Emory ID or any indication of your affiliation with Emory (such as a school schedule or a paystub). After the AFPLS rep verifies you at the station, you will be able to start using your new card immediately. The cards will be valid for 12 months and are easy to renew using an Emory ID.

Emory campus community members can obtain the cards regardless of where they live because the campus was annexed into the city of Atlanta in January 2018.

“We’re excited to partner with AFPLS and help the Emory community gain access to physical and digital resources that complement what we offer,” says librarian Erin Mooney, who leads Emory Libraries’ Outreach and Education team.

AFPLS digital resources include free TV shows, movies, e-books and comics on Hoopla, free test prep for LSAT, MCAT and GMAT tests, and free access to Tutor.com, Mango Languages, and Freegal Music.

If you are unable to attend this drive, you can still obtain a free library card. Just bring your Emory ID, school schedule, or paystub into any branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System to receive your free library card.
