Mission

We are dedicated to eliminating health inequities associated with stress and trauma through community engaged research and practice.

Vision

We aim to promote health equity through an innovative program of research systematically designed to partner with communities to develop and implement culturally responsive, strengths-based interventions.

Approach

Community-based participatory research: Research that equitably involves community partners throughout the research process with an emphasis on both building knowledge and directly improving the community’s health and well-being.

Cultural humility: Incorporates a lifelong commitment to learning and self-critique, to mitigating power imbalances, and to advocating for institutional change in partnership with diverse communities.
