Graduate student (joined 2018)
Project: Synthesis of Rhizosphere Antibiotic Products
Bio: Anna is a first year graduate student. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College majoring in Biochemistry and Mathematics. As an undergraduate, she participated in two REUs; one under the supervision of Steven Townsend at Vanderbilt University in 2015 doing sugar chemistry, and another with Lauren Brown at Boston University in 2016 doing medicinal chemistry. She then completed her Senior Honors Thesis synthesizing a cobalt catalyst under the guidance of Richard Broene at Bowdoin College. Anna is interested in the applying that Organic Synthesis to biological systems, which is why she decided to join the Wuest Group. In her free time, she enjoys playing with cats, doing puzzles, and eating a lot of food when she can afford it! Yum yum!
