Ben Deprez

Graduate Student (Joined 2020)

Ben is a third-year graduate student in the Wuest Lab from New York. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Northeastern University in 2020, where he conducted research on novel antileishmanials under the advisement of Professor Robert Hanson and gained industry experience at Tranlate Bio and Novartis. After graduation, Ben came to Emory to pursue his PhD in organic chemistry and joined the Wuest Lab in 2020. Currently in the Wuest Lab, Ben is interested in the total synthesis and biological investigation of antimicrobial natural products and medicinal chemistry aimed at directly targeting resistance mechanisms. Outside of lab, Ben enjoys playing soccer, hiking, and cooking.
