Graduate Student (Joined 2022)
Learnmore Jeremia (LJ), a Zimbabwean native from the city of Kings & Queens – Bulawayo, is a first-year graduate student here at Emory University. In 2021, LJ received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry
from Lander University situated in the historic town of Greenwood – SC, where under the supervision of Dr. K. Lisa Brodhacker he conducted research on alkoxysilyl functionalized epoxy mirrors. Upon graduation, LJ moved to Atlanta to pursue his PhD in organic chemistry at Emory, where he then became a member of the Wuest Lab in same year – 2021. Presently, LJ is interested in the total synthesis and biological investigation of antibacterial natural products and their analogs as well as other bioactive small molecules. Besides chemistry, LJ finds pleasure in photography, soccer, chess, walks on scenic trials, and spreading the African culture.
