Graduate student (joined 2018)
Project: Medicinal Chemistry Collaborations
Bio: Maddie joined the Wuest Lab in 2018. She attended a women’s college for her undergrad, Agnes Scott. During her undergraduate time, Maddie worked with Santa Jansone-Popova in summer 2015 at Oak Ridge National Lab developing ligands for the selective separation of trivalent actinides and the lanthanides; then, in the summer of 2016, Maddie worked with Mike Clift on applying the Clift Lab’s quinone methide methodology to the synthesis of calothrixin B.
Currently, Maddie is interested in total synthesis in addition to peptide chemistry. She aims to make her career in industry. Outside of lab, Maddie enjoys running (and wants to run another half marathon), cross-training through yoga, reading, and sampling the Atlanta beer scene.
